Can you use this on your body?
Yes, and many people do. The 500ml bottle size makes it practical for body use. Patting it on arms, legs, and torso after showering is a popular use case in Japan. It replaces traditional body lotion in humid climates.
Is this enough for dry skin?
The lotion alone may not be enough for very dry skin. Layer it (2 to 3 applications) and seal with a richer moisturizer on top. The ceramides and sake ferment provide excellent hydration, but you need an occlusive to lock it in.
How does this compare to Hada Labo Gokujyun?
Kikumasamune uses sake ferment, ceramides, and arbutin. Hada Labo uses multiple types of hyaluronic acid. Kikumasamune feels lighter and absorbs faster, while Hada Labo (especially Premium) has a thicker, more viscous texture. Kikumasamune offers mild brightening from arbutin that Hada Labo doesn't.
Does it have a strong sake smell?
It has a mild sake (rice wine) scent that fades within seconds of application. Most people don't find it bothersome, but if you're very sensitive to fragrance, patch test first.
