Do I need both this and the Facial Treatment Essence?
The Facial Treatment Essence is the hydrating, barrier strengthening base that goes on first. GenOptics Aura Essence is a targeted brightening serum that goes on after the FTE. SK-II positions them as complementary, not interchangeable. If you can only afford one, the FTE is the hero product. If you want brightening results, add GenOptics after.
How long does it take to see brightening results?
Most reviewers on Reddit and @cosme report seeing some improvement in skin radiance within 2 to 4 weeks of consistent use. Dark spots and uneven tone take longer, typically 2 to 3 months. The glow effect from the Pitera and niacinamide combination shows up faster than the actual pigmentation changes.
