How is this different from a regular cream?
It's a balm that releases water when you apply it. The texture starts solid, then transforms into a watery serum on your skin before sealing in moisture. Regular creams are emulsions. This uses what Kose calls a "beauty water in oil" formulation, which creates a stronger moisture barrier without the heavy feel of traditional balms.
Can I use this during the day?
Yes. Despite being a balm, it absorbs quickly and doesn't leave a greasy residue. Many people use it in the morning as their final moisturizing step, especially in winter. If you have very oily skin, you might prefer using it only at night.
